The Nirma University, Ahmedabad is a private university that was established in the year 2003. The University and its constituent institutes are highly ranked by different ranking agencies.

The University started the Department of Design in the year 2017. It offers a 4-Year Bachelor of Design in two disciplines – Industrial Design and Communication Design.

The program begins with a common Foundation year in Design. There is an intense 15 weeks of learning in each of the 8 semesters.

Both design programs are industry-oriented; hence, the students get a chance to work with organizations in the fields of:
- Digital media
- Manufacturing
- Retail industry
- Social organizations
- Independent Design Studios
- Educational services
- Advertising and Media Services
- Government bodies, etc.

Admissions to the B.Design is via an Entrance Exam followed by Situation Test & Personal Interview.

Entrance Exam:
The student can apply either using UCEED 2021 score or Nirma-B.Des (B.NU-DET 2021) Exam.

The last date to apply to UCEED 2021 is over and the exam is scheduled for 17th January 2021.

If you have missed applying to UCEED 2021, you can still apply to the B.Design program at Nirma University by taking Nirma-B.Des.
- Nirma-B.Des (B.NU-DET 2021) shall be held on 08 April 2021.
- Application closes on 30 March 2021.
